The Festival HQ at Adventure Bay Hall  will have many of the events and we shall have catering options on site throughout the festival.

Meals available during the festival

The ice cream man and his vanFRIDAY 25th  LUNCH- ADVENTURE BAY HALL
The Ice cream Van man will be set up in his van at the Adventure Bay Hall Carpark area from 11am to 3pm for lunch
He will be offering Van Diemens ice cream and his ice cream desserts on both Friday at Adventure Bay and at the market on Saturday at Lunawanna
He will be offering a savoury option on Friday.
A soup (Hot or Cold) with crusty Summer kitchen bread.
Either Spanish Gazpacho or French Onion depending on the weather!

Join us for the first evening of the Bird Festival and a community welcome informal meal.  This is a lovely time to mill around and banter with a gathering throng of fellow bird and nature lovers.  We shall begin with a Welcome to Country, followed by a brief speech to officially open the festival and welcome you all.  A relaxed and informal pasta meal will follow. 
The meal on Friday night will be provided by Caterers BrunItaly and sourced from fresh local ingredients.   Bruny Island's beautiful produce meets ancient Italian traditions!

Time: From 5pm for the opening,
5.30 for the Meal
6pm Nightly Bird Count 


SATURDAY 26th LUNCH - LUNAWANNA MARKET
10am - 4pm

A selection of delicious sweet & savoury snack and lunch items will be available at the Market, created by an island caterer and an island baker
There will also be an ice cream van  present throughout the day selling icecream and icecream sundaes

SATURDAY 26th NIGHT - ADVENTURE BAY HALL
5pm - 6.30pm
bruny bowls and community clubBruny Island Bowls and Community Club in Adventure Bay have kindly offered to provide a carvery roast meal for Bird Festival folk on Saturday 26th March from 5pm to 6.30pm. This will allow time to dine before the "Life on Lands Edge" show in the adjacent  Adventure Bay Hall at 7.00pm. Of course those not going to the show are welcome to stay on and enjoy the club facilities and bar. 

On offer are roast lamb and/or pork, roast and other vegetables, and salads all for just $25 pp or $15 child. Highly recommended!

We very much appreciate the club providing this meal to our Festival and do hope you will support their initiative

SUNDAY 27th NIGHT - ADVENTURE BAY HALL
5pm-6.30pm

The Bruny Men's Cooking group are preparing to cook some fabulous wood fired pizzas on the Sunday evening from 5pm to 6.30pm just before the show which starts at 7.00pm.
Prices are $15 whole, $8 half and $4 a quarter. Pay on the night.

Gourmet Food & Wine Outlets

One of the delights of visiting Bruny Is is the opportunity to sample all the renowned and fabulous gourmet food products grown or made on the island.

Just off the ferry are the delectable pies and muffins at the Robert Point kiosk, freshly baked every day. Followed soon after by the Bruny Island House of Whiskey a fully licensed bistro & bottle shop and producer of award winning smoked produce.  

Turning north to Dennes Point, you will find the Jetty Cafe with fantastic coffee and light meals.


At Great Bay be sure to call in at Get Shucked Oysters for your supply of fresh Bruny Is oysters or a tempting platter and wine at their oyster bar. The famous Bruny Island Cheese Co is practically next door where you can sample not only amazing cheeses but the best crusty bread and pizzas straight from the wood fired oven and wonderful Bruny Island Beer. 

For those with a sweet tooth do not miss the Bruny Island Chocolate Company factory outlet soon after the turnoff to Adventure Bay. Here you will find a mouthwatering range of handmade chocolate fudges, truffles and chocolate sauces. You can sample before you buy and the shelves are laden with tempting goodies.

Bruny Island Premium Wines can be found further south at Lunawanna. It is in fact Australia's southernmost vineyard. Here you can enjoy sampling the award winning wines and savour a tasty meal in the Bar & Grill.
